SAP Pay Integrates USDC and EURC Into Corporate Treasury Payments

Stablecoins are moving directly into corporate treasury workflows as SAP launches SAP Pay, a payment orchestration layer spanning bank rails and USDC/EURC.

SAP-backed Tereina has partnered with Circle to integrate USDC and EURC into SAP Pay, allowing corporate treasury teams to initiate and manage stablecoin payments directly from their existing SAP workflows.

The important development is not simply that SAP now supports USDC. It is that SAP is positioning itself as the payment orchestration layer sitting above multiple payment rails.

Corporate payment workflow is now:

1️⃣ SAP ERP

2️⃣ SAP Pay / Tereina selects payment rail

3️⃣ ACH | wire | real-time payments | USDC / EURC

4️⃣ Recipient

For stablecoin payments, the disclosed workflow routes the payment onchain from the corporate's Circle wallet, with the recipient receiving USDC or EURC.

SAP then brings the transaction back into the existing treasury and accounting workflow for reconciliation.

This matters because stablecoin adoption may increasingly happen inside the software corporate treasury teams already use, rather than through standalone crypto platforms.

Historically, corporate treasury workflow: SAP → Bank → Payment rail

Increasingly, it is: SAP → Payment orchestration → Bank rail OR stablecoin rail

That potentially moves some control over which money and which settlement rail gets used upstream from banks into the corporate treasury software layer.

The end state may not be: Stablecoins vs tokenized deposits vs RTGS

Instead, it may instead be: A treasury orchestration layer dynamically choosing between them based on cost, liquidity, settlement speed, currency, counterparty and availability.

For Circle, this didn't merely get USDC added to another payment application. It got USDC and EURC embedded as selectable settlement assets and Arc as the settlement rail inside one of the world's most important corporate ERP environments

For SAP, it is positioning potentially as one of the most important distribution layers in enterprise payments.
